Mari Salazar has worked for BOK Financial’s Energy Lending team for 18 ½ years. She is currently a senior vice president and regional manager of the Houston Energy Financial Services Group. Before BOK Financial, Mari served as a senior credit analyst at Comerica Bank in Houston, Texas, in the Energy, Real Estate and Energy Loan Workout groups.

Mari has a Bachelors of Business Administration and Economics (Class of ’95) and a Masters in Business and Finance (Class of ’99) from the University of St. Thomas, in Houston, Texas.

In 2013, Mari was selected by the Houston Business Journal as one of the top 100 most influential Houston business leaders in the energy industry. Mari was also recognized as a 2017 “Outstanding Women in Banking & Finance” recipient by the Women’s Resource of Greater Houston and was recently named as to Oil & Gas Investor Magazine’s 2020 “25 Influential Women in Energy.”

She is an active member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, serving as a coordinator on the Go Tejano Committee. Mari serves on the Endowment Board for the Small Steps Nurturing Center, an organization focused on early childhood education, where she also is a past Executive Board member and Treasurer. Mari also serves as a board member on Texan’s Linebacker Whitney Mercilus’ WithMerci Foundation, which focuses on children with disabilities and on the University of St. Thomas Alumni Board.  Mari helped established the University of St. Thomas’  Interview Closet–named after her mother–which provides career attire and accessories to students and alumni. Mari is also an active board member with The Society for the Performing Arts, recently co-chairing its 2021 “Arts Forward” Gala.  

Mari lives in Houston, Texas. When not working, Mari enjoys traveling, playing tennis, running marathons and ultramarathons and spending time with her family.
