Bryce Hairston Kennard – Manager of Government Affairs

Bryce Hairston Kennard serves as the External Affairs Manager for the Comcast Houston Region. In his role, he supports government affairs efforts, community relations and manages outreach for the Comcast Internet Essentials program.

Prior to Comcast, he managed corporate communications and public affairs for CITGO Petroleum Corporation. He began his career in London, England with Coca Cola’s European Marketing team and has held positions with Baker Botts L.L.P. and the Texas A&M University System. He has interviewed personalities ranging from supermodel Naomi Campbell to comedian Dick Gregory. His work has been featured in the Houston Chronicle, Southern Living magazine and the New York Times. His role as contributing editor for JONES magazine is documented in the BET television series “Keeping Up With the Joneses.”

He is the former board chair for the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Houston Leadership Council and is a member of the Texas Central Railway Advisory Board. He is a former member of the board of directors for the Houston Area Urban League, the John P. McGovern Health Museum Professionals Circle, the Houston Coalition for the Homeless. He is also a graduate of Leadership Houston and an American Leadership Forum Senior Fellow.

He received a bachelor’s degree in English from Morehouse College. His post baccalaureate pursuits include communications studies at Rice University and a master’s degree in community development.
