Art Rascon, along with his son Jacob Rascon

The 2019 Illumine Gala benefiting AAMA (the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans) was held Friday, October 25, with a packed ballroom of nearly 320 guests.

ABC13’s Emmy award-winning reporter, Art Rascon, along with his son Jacob Rascon (KPRC 2), served as emcees for the evening. AAMA’s President and CEO Joe Jimenez thanked attendees for their support of the non-profit, dedicated to building strong families and communities. Comcast Regional Senior Vice President, Ralph Martinez and Comcast was honored for their long-standing commitment to helping create a better future for students and families in the community.

This black-tie event included dinner, auctions, program, and dancing.

AAMA serves 10,000 people each year, including nearly 900 students at two Sanchez charter schools, individuals who seek to recover from substance use disorders, and those who participate in our adult classes for workforce development and career pathways. These efforts are possible due to the support of the Houston community.
