Comcast recently announced that Sharon Desmond has been appointed vice president of Finance for the company’s Houston region. In this role, Desmond is responsible for all financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, warehousing and facilities for the region.
“Sharon is a proven and respected leader, and we’re excited for her to join our team of more than 2,500 employees here in Houston,” said Ralph Martinez, senior vice president for Comcast’s Houston region. “Her professionalism, expertise and successful track record will continue to position Comcast as the provider of choice in Houston.”
Prior to assuming her new role in Houston, Desmond led financial and business operations for the Technology and Product team at Comcast’s corporate offices located in Philadelphia, PA. Helping Comcast navigate a series of product launches and joint ventures, she has held a variety of senior financial roles within the company and has supported the growth of several business units.
Prior to joining Comcast, Desmond served as a Manager of Audit Practice at Deloitte & Touche, L.L.P and earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Villanova University.
